Each piece of art is a hand cast one of a kind. The artist originally carved the horse out of cottonwood from Sacred Indian Ground in New Mexico. The body is a mixed compound with ground leather applied to the top. It gives it a texture similar to sand painting. (All leather and All furs used are recycled) A very high quality artist acrylic paint is used by the artist to create the unique paintings on the horses. Many of the symbols are ancient Anastasi Indian signs. The Anastasi Indians lived in New Mexico and Arizona and are regarded as The Ancient Ones, The Grand Fathers and Grand Mothers of all the Tribes of today.
In New Mexico they were also known as The Mimbres and sometimes called The Willow People. They were from an ancient Indian civilization from many thousands of years ago. The artist lived on The Ancient Sacred Ground in New Mexico for many years and created her first Spirit Horses at that time.
A very high quality artist acrylic paint is used on the horses. It is very permanent color. This makes the painting stay as beautiful as the day it was created. *Never leave the art in intense heat or direct sunlight. Never put any art work in extreme conditions.
The art works are made of leathers, furs, feathers and even horse tail. *It is also highly recommended that you keep your art out of reach from dogs and cats or other pets.
